ABOUT LILIAN SCHMIDT
Lilian Schmidt is a flutist and private lesson teacher located in Houston Texas. Ms. Schmidt has experience teaching a wide range of ability levels, from 6 year old beginners, to undergraduate flutists as a teaching graduate assistant.
Students studying with Ms. Schmidt have made the Region, Area, and All-State bands in both Texas and Wyoming, and some have gone on to pursue a collegiate degree in music.

Ms. Schmidt graduated with her M.M in flute performance from the University of Wyoming in May 2019, where she held the principal chair, a full merit scholarship, and the flute graduate assistantship position while studying under Dr. Nicole Riner.
In 2016 she graduated with her B.M in flute performance from the University of Houston, where she studied with Jennifer Keeney, Melissa Suhr, and Aralee Dorough.
Ms. Schmidt was awarded second prize at both the 2019 Jacoby Concerto Competition, and the Moores School of Music Concerto Competition in 2016.

In addition to teaching and performing, Ms. Schmidt dabbles in flute composition, and audio/video production.
Extending Further, a short collection of original etudes for extended flute techniques, was self published by Ms. Schmidt during her master's thesis in 2019 with the intention to empower flutists to embrace extended techniques and fearlessly learn contemporary repertoire.

When Ms. Schmidt is not teaching or practicing, she enjoys spending her free time spoiling her two adorable cats, Athena and Zander.
